Mac Pro Repair Dubai - All Models

The Mac Pro was Apple's tower workstation line and the only Apple desktop with PCIe expansion slots. Apple no longer sells it, and we still repair the Intel and M2 Ultra models. At Azizi Technologies in Dubai we have been servicing every Mac Pro generation since the 2007 originals, and today we still maintain a parts inventory and diagnostic workflow for all four currently in service - the 2023 M2 Ultra Mac Pro, the 2019 Intel Xeon W Mac Pro, the 2013 cylinder Mac Pro nicknamed the trash can, and the 2012 tower Mac Pro nicknamed the cheese-grater. Each generation has a distinct repair profile and parts ecosystem. The 2023 Mac Pro M2 Ultra is essentially a Mac Studio M2 Ultra inside a tower chassis with six PCIe Gen 4 expansion slots.

The M2 Ultra SoC is non-upgradable, RAM is unified memory soldered to the SoC package (60GB, 96GB, 128GB or 192GB), and the SSD is removable just like the Mac Studio. Logic board repair covers component-level work, power IC replacement and reflow. SSD upgrades use the same removable-module process as Mac Studio. We diagnose and replace PCIe slots individually, and repair Thunderbolt 4 ports one at a time. The PCIe slots on the 2023 Mac Pro are mainly used for audio interfaces (Avid Pro Tools HDX, Universal Audio Apollo, RME MADI), SDI capture (Blackmagic DeckLink 8K Pro, AJA Kona 5), and 10GbE or 25GbE networking for SAN-attached post-production storage like Avid Nexis or DDP storage at Dubai Media City facilities.

The 2019 Intel Mac Pro uses Xeon W-3200 series CPUs (8, 12, 16, 24 or 28-core), socketed DDR4 ECC memory up to 1.5TB across 12 DIMM slots, and proprietary MPX (Mac Pro Expansion) modules combining PCIe plus auxiliary power for GPUs like the Radeon Pro W6800X Duo and the Radeon Pro Vega II Duo. This is the last user-upgradable Mac and stays in heavy use across Dubai post-production houses, AI inference workstations and architecture practices running Houdini and Maya. Logic board repair and fitted RAM upgrades are both in scope - we source new Apple-spec ECC DDR4 modules at trade pricing, typically 30 to 45 percent below Apple's at-order memory pricing.

CPU replacement is priced by Xeon W tier - we keep W-3223, W-3235, W-3245, W-3265M and W-3275M in workshop inventory. We diagnose and repair MPX modules - GPU module power stage failures are the most common 2019 Mac Pro fault we see in Dubai because the chassis runs warm in summer. Afterburner card diagnosis included on the 2019 Mac Pro for ProRes acceleration workflows. PCIe slot diagnosis and SSD module replacement are also in scope. We routinely upgrade 2019 Mac Pro units from base 8-core W-3223 to 16-core W-3245 or 28-core W-3275M for clients moving from documentary editing to multi-stream 8K colour finishing - the quote covers the upgrade, fresh paste and thermal verification all-in.

The 2013 cylinder Mac Pro known as the trash can has Intel Xeon E5-1600 v2 CPUs (4, 6, 8 or 12-core), socketed DDR3 ECC memory up to 64GB across 4 DIMM slots, and dual AMD FirePro D300, D500 or D700 GPUs on a thermal core. This is the hardest Mac Pro to repair because of the thermal core architecture - any GPU or CPU failure means full disassembly of the cylinder. We still service these for clients who have not migrated to the 2019 or 2023 platforms. We handle logic board repair, GPU thermal core repair, fan replacement and SSD upgrades via Apple's proprietary blade format, priced by capacity (we stock 256GB, 512GB, 1TB and 2TB compatible modules).

The 2013 cylinder is still useful for Pro Tools HDX-attached audio post houses and for Final Cut 7 archival rooms where the older AMD GPU drivers are required - we keep one as a workshop reference machine for exactly these legacy diagnostic scenarios. The 2012 cheese-grater Mac Pro is the dual-CPU tower with sockets for Intel Xeon X5600 series CPUs, eight DIMM slots of DDR3 ECC memory up to 128GB, four 3.5-inch drive sleds, two optical drive bays and four full-length PCIe 2.0 slots. This is by far the most user-serviceable Mac in Apple's history and remains in service for Dubai studios running legacy PCIe capture cards (Blackmagic DeckLink, AJA Kona) and final-cut-7 archival workflows.

We still source genuine Apple parts and third-party flashed AMD and Nvidia GPU modules for these. We handle logic board repair, CPU upgrades (we stock X5650, X5670, X5675, X5680, X5690), fitted RAM upgrades, PCIe slot diagnosis and SSD upgrades via PCIe carrier or SATA bay. We have done dual-CPU upgrades on 2012 cheese-graters for Dubai post houses still running them as backup edit suites, dropping the X5690 12-core combo in and getting useful 2026-era Final Cut and Adobe Premiere performance, quoted all-in including parts.
