Four generations are still in service, and board repair on them is really four different jobs. The 2023 M2 Ultra, the 2019 Intel Xeon W, the 2013 cylinder and the 2012 tower each bring their own board architecture and their own parts position to the bench, so the fault list, the tooling and the achievable fix all change with the generation. It also moves the point at which repairing a board stops beating replacing it which is why we establish the generation before quoting anything. Diagnosis is free at both Dubai workshops.
Quick answer
Azizi Technologies repairs Mac Pro logic boards at component level in Dubai Media City and Bur Dubai, across the four generations still in service: the 2023 M2 Ultra, the 2019 Intel Xeon W, the 2013 cylinder and the 2012 tower. The service covers full bench diagnosis, multimeter and oscilloscope tracing on the power rails and schematic-driven fault isolation, with a written quote for the repair scope before any work proceeds. Diagnosis costs nothing, and the repair is backed for 90 days on parts and labour.

Key Takeaways
Updated September 2026Logic board repair on the Mac Pro is the most technically demanding service we run at Azizi Technologies in Dubai, and the first thing that decides how it goes is which of the four generations is on the bench.
Is it the board you need worked on, or the data on it?
This page is the board-level bench: component work on the Mac Pro logic board itself. Whole-machine Mac Pro service starts at the hub, and getting files off a Mac Pro that will not power on runs through data recovery.
Four generations, four architectures
Four Mac Pro generations are still working in Dubai: the 2023 M2 Ultra, the 2019 Intel Xeon W, the 2013 cylinder and the 2012 tower. They do not share a board design, and they do not share a parts position either, so a repair that is routine on one of them is frequently beside the point on the next.
The same split moves the line between repairing a board and replacing it. That line falls somewhere quite different on a 2012 tower than it does on an M2 Ultra, and reading it correctly for the machine actually in front of you is what stops money going into the wrong decision.
2023 M2 Ultra
Apple silicon, where SoC integration sets the limits of what board work can reach.
2019 Intel Xeon W
The modular generation, and the one with the widest component-level scope.
2013 cylinder
A compact thermal core layout with a board design shared with nothing else here.
2012 tower
Still in service, and physically the easiest of the four to get a board out of.
Board-level work we handle
Board-level repairs on the Mac Pro bench in Dubai, grouped the way the generations group them rather than as one undifferentiated board service.
Failures on the 5V, 12V and 3.3V rails across all four generations, with the failed MOSFET or controller IC replaced rather than the board around it.
For the 2023 M2 Ultra, where thermal cycling has cracked the solder joints under the SoC package. Reballed and reflowed with leaded solder paste.
The 2019 Intel Xeon W generation: DIMM slot solder joints reflowed, or the DIMM controller IC replaced where the slot itself is sound.
The 2013 cylinder's signature board fault. Reflowing the FirePro D300, D500 or D700 die means taking the cylinder fully apart to reach the thermal core.
The 2012 tower: dual-CPU sockets re-pinned after an upgrade has gone wrong, and PCIe power stages repaired where a high-draw card ran without supplementary power.
SMC controller failure stops a power-on across all four generations: the IC is swapped from a donor board and re-flashed. Boot ROM corruption on the 2019 is reprogrammed chip-off.
What to check before a Mac Pro board goes on someone's bench
We can only speak for our own bench, so the right-hand column is the question worth asking wherever the machine goes. If your Mac Pro is still inside its Apple warranty, use that first.
| Azizi (board-level bench) | Questions to ask elsewhere | |
|---|---|---|
| Which generation you have | Established first, because it sets the board architecture, the parts route and the repair threshold | Ask whether the quote is specific to your generation or one flat board price |
| Repair or replace the board | Component-level micro-soldering where it is the better economics, which is roughly seven boards in ten here | Ask whether the board is repaired or replaced whole |
| Board schematics | Current schematic libraries for all four generations, on a tablet at every bench | Ask which generations they hold board views for |
| Scope before work starts | A written quote for the repair scope, issued after diagnosis and before anything proceeds | Ask whether you get the scope in writing before work begins |
| Proof before you collect | A 24-hour soak test under production workload, a thermal profile and a power-rail ripple measurement, with the report | Ask what test evidence you are given before collection |
| Data on a board that will not start | DFU-bridged to a working donor and the encrypted user partition imaged, rather than swapped blind | Ask what happens to the data if the board is replaced |
| While the board is on the bench | A loaner 2019 Intel Mac Pro or Mac Studio M2 Ultra on jobs running past five days | Ask what you work on during the turnaround |
| In-warranty units | We send you to Apple instead | The correct place to go |
How a board goes through the bench
Which of the four is on the bench decides the board architecture, the parts route and the point at which repair stops beating replacement, so it is settled before any diagnostic work begins.
Full bench diagnosis: multimeter and oscilloscope tracing on the power rails, a programmable supply for controlled current ramp during fault isolation, and schematic-driven component-level work. You get the repair scope in writing before anything proceeds.
The failed component is replaced under the stereo microscope on precision rework and hot-air stations, whether that is a power-rail controller IC, a reball on an SoC package, a DIMM slot reflow, a GPU thermal core or a PCIe redriver.
A 24-hour soak test under simulated production workload, a thermal profile capture, a power-rail ripple measurement and a final disk speed and Apple Diagnostics pass. No board-level repair leaves here without its soak test report.
Vendor neutral
Component-level work is only as good as what you can see and what you can measure, so this is the equipment a Mac Pro board is worked on with.
JBC NASE-2C rework stations
With PA120 and T245 handles for through-hole and SMD work, down to 0201 passives and 0.3mm pitch BGA.
Aoyue 768 hot-air station
Component-level removal and replacement on packages up to 40mm, which is what an SoC or a large controller IC needs.
XP-Power programmable supply
A benchtop supply used for controlled current ramp during fault isolation, so a short is found without cooking anything further.
Keysight meter and 4-channel scope
Power-rail integrity testing, and the ripple measurement every board-level repair is checked against before it goes back.
Thermal camera, 25 micron pitch
Spotting ICs running hot under load, which is how a failing component is found on a board that still technically starts.
Mantis Elite stereo microscope
4x to 20x magnification for the SMD work itself. Everything soldered on a Mac Pro board here is soldered under it.
Finding us
Bring a Mac Pro in to either Dubai workshop without an appointment. Our Media City service center is on the 10th floor of Concord Tower, where customer parking is free; our Bur Dubai workshop is in the IT Center Building on 21A Street, where parking is paid on the street with more in the BurJuman car park. Neither charges for the diagnosis.
The counter is open Monday to Saturday, 09:00 until 21:00, pausing on Friday between 12:00 and 14:00 and shut on Sunday. Board-level work is bench time rather than a parts swap, so expect five to ten working days on it, and tell us if the machine is in production: on jobs running past five days we provide a loaner 2019 Intel Mac Pro or Mac Studio M2 Ultra so a post-production schedule does not slip while the board is with us.
The Media City round covers Dubai Media City itself along with Studio City, Tecom, Knowledge Park, JLT, Dubai Marina, Internet City, JBR and Palm Jumeirah. The Bur Dubai round takes in Karama, Deira, Downtown, Business Bay and DIFC as well as Bur Dubai. Larger jobs are collected and returned at no charge.
The tower or cylinder itself and its power cable. Leave the monitor, the keyboard and the boxed accessories at home, but do tell us which PCIe or MPX cards are fitted and whether any were installed recently, because a card drawing more than a slot can supply is itself a board fault we see. Take a backup first if the machine still starts.
