What condition are your refurbished computers in - and how are they graded?
Every used and refurbished computer at Azizi Technologies is sold against a clear, written cosmetic grade so you know exactly what you are getting before you commit. Grade A is near-mint - no visible marks at normal viewing distance, the kind of MacBook Air M2 or Dell Latitude that looks barely used. Grade B carries light, honest wear - faint palm-rest shine, a small scuff on the lid, the odd shallow scratch that does not affect use. Grade C is functionally perfect but cosmetically tired - heavier scuffs, key-cap polish, lid wear - and it is priced to reflect that. The grade is written on your receipt next to the model, serial number, battery cycle count and SSD health percentage, so there is no guessing. Functionally, every unit regardless of grade has passed the same 12-point Concord Tower workshop bench - we do not sell a single machine that has not been opened, tested and confirmed. In 19 years of refurbishing computers in Dubai we have learned that buyers want honesty about condition far more than glossy marketing, so we grade conservatively.
What warranty do refurbished computers from Azizi Technologies come with?
Every used and refurbished computer we sell in Dubai carries a 90-day parts-and-labour warranty starting from the day of collection. The warranty covers the logic board, RAM, SSD, battery (where applicable), display, keyboard, trackpad and ports - effectively the entire unit. Consumable cosmetic wear such as scuffs, palm-rest discolouration and key-cap polish is excluded, as is standard in the refurbished market. Crucially, the warranty work is done in our own Concord Tower workshop - the same bench that handles our paid customer repairs - not shipped to a foreign distributor, so turnaround is typically 24 to 72 hours. Azizi Technologies runs a closed-loop refurbished-computer programme in Dubai. The bulk of our stock comes from corporate IT asset buybacks - Dubai SMBs, free zone offices, hotels, clinics and design agencies upgrading their fleet hand back their old MacBooks, iMacs, Dell Latitudes, HP ProBooks and Lenovo ThinkPads to us, and we refurbish them for resale. A smaller share comes from individual sellers walking in with one or two units, and a small percentage from end-of-lease returns. We do not buy from grey-market import channels, we do not list stolen-property-risk hardware, and every unit clears our standard Emirates ID buyback paperwork before it enters the refurbishment line. That documented chain of custody - from a known Dubai office, through our own workshop, to you - is exactly why corporate buyers trust the supply chain over Dragon Mart or Marketplace listings.
How does the refurbishment and testing process work on each unit?
Every used computer that enters our buyback line goes through a 12-point Dubai workshop diagnostic bench before it is listed for resale. Step 1: full Apple Diagnostics or Dell/HP/Lenovo factory diagnostic with a written pass log. Step 2: SMART read on the SSD plus a sector-by-sector surface scan. Step 3: battery cycle count and design-capacity check - anything under 80 percent of design capacity is flagged for replacement or a lower grade. Step 4: thermal sensor read and fan stress test. Step 5: screen pixel test, brightness uniformity and ghosting check. Step 6: keyboard key-by-key test and trackpad gesture test. Step 7: every port load-tested with known-good peripherals. Step 8: WiFi, Bluetooth and webcam confirmed. Step 9: speaker and microphone test. Step 10: full chassis clean and key-cap polish. Step 11: secure DoD-grade data wipe with a written certificate. Step 12: fresh macOS Sequoia or Windows 11 install with current updates. Only units that pass all 12 points are listed - failed units are repaired and re-tested, or scrapped.
What's included when I buy a refurbished computer - charger, box, accessories?
Every used and refurbished computer ships with a compatible charger as standard - either the original Apple, Dell, HP, Lenovo or Microsoft charger if the buyback included it, or a high-quality OEM-equivalent if the original was missing. Original retail boxes are included where the seller handed them over to us, which is roughly a third of MacBook trade-ins and a smaller share of Windows laptops; if the original box is unavailable we ship the unit in protective packaging with a clear note on the receipt. Accessories such as USB-C dongles, Magic Mouse, Magic Keyboard, Apple Pencil and original cables are included only when handed in by the original seller, and listed item by item on the receipt. We never claim accessories are included that are not in the box. When you request a quote we tell you upfront exactly which accessories that specific unit comes with.
Can I inspect or test a refurbished computer before I buy it?
Absolutely - and we encourage it. Walk in to Concord Tower, Office 45, 10th Floor in Dubai Media City or G 58, IT Center Building in Bur Dubai during opening hours (Mon-Sat 09:00-19:00, Friday break 12:00-14:00, closed Sunday) and we will hand you the unit to inspect yourself: open the lid, type on the keyboard, look at the screen at full brightness, plug in your own USB drive, run whatever benchmark you like. There is no pressure and no rushed close. If you cannot make it in, we run a 15-minute WhatsApp video walkthrough where we show you the same checks live on camera - the screen, the keyboard, the ports, the About This Mac or System spec, the battery health. Every unit also carries a 7-day no-questions return option from collection, so even after you take it home there is a window to change your mind. Is the previous owner's data wiped before you sell a refurbished computer to me?
Yes - every used and refurbished computer leaves our workshop with a written DoD 5220.22-M three-pass secure-wipe certificate, and you receive a fresh, clean operating system. The process: the SSD is reformatted, three sequential overwrite passes are run (zeros, ones, random pattern), a final verify pass confirms it, then a fresh macOS Sequoia or Windows 11 Pro install with current updates is applied. For Macs with the Apple T2 chip or Apple Silicon (M1, M2, M3, M4) the secure wipe is done through the Mac's Erase Assistant in Recovery Mode - the Apple-approved cryptographic erase tied to the Secure Enclave, effectively unrecoverable. For self-encrypting drives in most modern business laptops we trigger an OPAL-2 crypto-erase that destroys the encryption key. The original owner gets a signed copy of the wipe certificate when they trade in, and you, the new owner, get a genuinely clean machine - no leftover accounts, no previous-owner files, no Activation Lock.
