Do you accept damaged Apple devices - cracked screen, dead battery, water damage?

A cracked iPhone screen, a delaminated MacBook display, a smashed iPad digitiser, a broken iMac stand - all in scope because we replace these parts in-house. We do not pay in cryptocurrency, foreign cash, gold or barter. Every payment comes with a signed receipt carrying our trade licence number, your Emirates ID or passport reference, and the device serial number or IMEI for full Department of Economic Development compliance.
What ID do I need to sell an Apple device in Dubai?
UAE residents bring Emirates ID, both sides. UAE citizens bring Emirates ID or family card. Tourists or short-term visitors bring passport plus the entry-stamp page or current UAE visa. Estate sales bring the will or letter of administration plus your Emirates ID. We log ID against device serial number or IMEI for every transaction - this is standard UAE second-hand electronics compliance under Department of Economic Development rules and protects both sides if a device is ever reported lost or stolen later. No off-the-books purchases, no grey transactions.
What happens to my data - and can I watch the wipe before payment?
Yes, you watch the entire wipe procedure before any payment changes hands, and the exact steps depend on the device. (1) iPhone and iPad: Settings, General, Transfer or Reset, Erase All Content and Settings, you enter your Apple ID password, the device reboots to the Hello screen - 5 to 12 minutes. (2) Apple Silicon MacBook, iMac, Mac mini, Mac Studio and Mac Pro: boot into Recovery Mode, Disk Utility erase the internal SSD, reinstall a fresh copy of macOS, then DFU mode plus Apple Configurator 2 restore from a separate Mac to wipe at the firmware level and remove the Activation Lock binding. (3) Intel Macs: Command-R to Recovery, Disk Utility erase, reinstall macOS, sign out of iCloud confirmed. Whole process 10 to 30 minutes depending on device. If you want, we can pre-export Photos, Mail, Notes or specific folders to an external drive you bring, free of charge, before the wipe runs.
What is your policy on Activation Lock and iCloud Lock - do you buy locked Apple devices?
Short answer - we do not buy iCloud-locked or Activation-Lock-trapped devices for normal resale because Apple's Activation Lock makes them effectively unusable for the next owner. Before you bring any device in, sign out of iCloud. iPhone or iPad: Settings, your name at the top, Sign Out, enter Apple ID password. MacBook, iMac, Mac mini, Mac Studio or Mac Pro: System Settings, your name, Sign Out from iCloud. If you forgot your Apple ID password, recover it on appleid.apple.com before arriving. If you bought the device second-hand and never knew the previous owner's Apple ID you have a problem - we cannot legitimately accept it for resale because Apple will not unlock it without the original purchase receipt linked to the original buyer. The transparent exception: we accept locked devices as parts donors with full disclosure of the lock status logged on the receipt. No grey-market unlocks, no false re-IMEI work.
Is the WhatsApp valuation binding - what if I disagree at inspection?
The WhatsApp valuation is an honest written offer, not a haggling tactic - if the device matches the photos and your description, the in-person figure matches it about 90 percent of the time. If the inspection finds something material that was not visible in the photos (water-damage indicators tripped, hidden display delamination, an undisclosed battery service warning, a bent frame, ghost touch on a digitiser, Face ID disabled), we show you the issue under our inspection magnifier, explain the adjustment in writing, and you decide. If you do not accept the revised offer, you walk out with your device - no charge, no pressure.
