What happens to my data - do you wipe the MacBook Pro before resale?
We do not touch your data until you have signed the device over. On every intake: you sit with our technician while we boot into Recovery Mode (Apple Silicon: hold the power button on startup; Intel: Command-R), run Disk Utility to erase the internal SSD, and reinstall a fresh copy of macOS in front of you. On Apple Silicon MacBook Pros we then put the device into DFU mode and run a full Apple Configurator 2 restore from a separate Mac, which wipes the SSD at the firmware level and clears the Activation Lock binding to your Apple ID. You watch the whole process - usually 15 to 30 minutes - before payment changes hands. If you bring an external drive we can pre-export Photos, Mail or specific folders for you, free of charge.

Do you buy iCloud-locked or Activation Lock MacBook Pros?
