We bring proper foam-lined packaging, collect it from your home or office anywhere in Dubai - Media City, Studio City, JLT, Marina, JBR, Bur Dubai, Business Bay, DIFC, DHCC, DMCC, Bluewaters or Palm Jumeirah - and transport it ourselves to our Concord Tower workshop for inspection. Once the offer is confirmed we either deliver cash back to you or process a same-day UAE bank transfer. Pickup applies to all iMac sizes including the 21.5-inch and 24-inch models.
Do you buy iMacs with dead pixels, a cracked screen or a faulty display?
Yes to all of them - we just reflect the condition in the offer. A few dead or stuck pixels on a 27-inch 5K panel is a small, itemised deduction. A cracked or delaminated display, image-retention burn-in, or anti-reflective coating wear (the well-known 'stain-gate' on some 5K panels) we still buy, with a fair reduction because we replace the display in-house. Every payment, regardless of method, comes with a signed receipt carrying our trade licence number, your Emirates ID or passport reference, and the iMac serial number for full Department of Economic Development compliance.
What ID do I need to bring to sell my iMac in Dubai?
UAE residents bring Emirates ID, front and back. UAE citizens bring Emirates ID or family card. Tourists or short-term visitors bring passport plus the current UAE visa or entry stamp page. Businesses selling office iMacs bring a trade licence copy, a signed authorisation letter on company letterhead naming the person handing the devices over, and that person's Emirates ID. Estate sales bring the will or letter of administration plus your Emirates ID. We log ID against the iMac serial number for every transaction - this is standard UAE second-hand electronics compliance and protects both sides if a device is ever reported lost or stolen later. No grey transactions, no off-the-books purchases.
What happens to my data - do you wipe the iMac before resale?
We do not touch your data until you have signed the device over. Standard procedure on every iMac intake: (1) you sit with our technician while we sign you out of iCloud and turn off Find My, (2) on Apple silicon iMacs (M4, M3, M1) we boot into Recovery, erase the internal SSD with Disk Utility and reinstall a fresh copy of macOS in front of you, then run a full DFU restore via Apple Configurator 2 from a separate Mac, which wipes the SSD at firmware level and clears any activation lock; on Intel iMacs we erase the internal drive and reinstall macOS the same way, (3) we power it up to the Setup Assistant screen, then shut it down. You watch the whole process before payment changes hands. If you want, we can also pre-export your Photos, Mail or specific folders to an external drive you bring, free of charge.
Is the WhatsApp valuation binding - what if I disagree at inspection?
The WhatsApp valuation is an honest written offer, not a haggling tactic - if the iMac matches the photos and your description, the in-person figure matches it the large majority of the time. If the inspection finds something material that was not visible in the photos (a panel fault, a failed Fusion Drive, hidden coating wear, a swollen or noisy fan), we show you the issue, explain the adjustment in writing, and you decide. If you do not accept the revised offer, you keep your iMac - no charge, no pressure, and if we collected it we bring it back. Do you buy iCloud-locked or Activation Lock iMacs?
Not unless you can unlock them in our presence. Apple's Activation Lock is bound to your Apple ID and Find My setting, and a locked Mac cannot be legitimately resold or reused. Before pickup or your visit, sign out: System Settings, your name at the top, Sign Out from iCloud, enter your Apple ID password, confirm (on older macOS it is System Preferences then Apple ID then Overview then Sign Out). If you forgot the Apple ID password, recover it on appleid.apple.com first. If you bought the iMac second-hand and never had the previous owner's Apple ID, we cannot buy it as a working machine because Apple cannot unlock it without the original purchase records - the only exception is a parts-value offer with the lock status fully disclosed on the receipt.
