Structured cabling in Dubai is priced per point, and Cat 6a costs more per point than Cat 6. The per-point rate covers cable, faceplate, module, patch-panel termination, and Fluke testing - containment, patch panels, and cabinet hardware are itemised separately, which is why the quote for a small 25-drop office is more than a bare per-point multiplication. Scale helps: larger drop counts get a better per-point rate, and enterprise fibre-riser projects are quoted separately.

In DMCC towers across JLT - and in DIFC, ADGM, and managed buildings - cabling counts as fit-out work: the free zone wants a fit-out permit, building management wants a landlord NOC, and contractors must show insurance before opening risers or ceilings. You receive a printed PDF report listing every point as PASS, which becomes part of your network documentation and supports manufacturer warranty claims and audits. Certification separates cabling that works today from cabling that still passes when you upgrade switches to 10 Gbps. It also matters for PoE: marginal terminations add resistance, so access points and cameras brown out and reboot at busy hours, a fault that gets blamed on the WiFi for months. Heat eats the same margin, because riser cupboards and ceiling voids here reach 45-55C between June and September; the per-run margin on the Fluke report tells you which links will still pass in August, and hot voids get LSZH cable and a ventilated or air-conditioned comms cabinet.
