What an IT move involves
The move happens on a weekend because Monday cannot slip.
An office relocation has one hard constraint: staff arrive at the new address on Monday morning and expect to work. Everything else is negotiable, and everything else is what goes wrong - the ISP circuit at the new site ordered too late, the server rack that will not fit the new comms room, the desks cabled but never patched through.
So the planning matters more than the lifting. We survey the destination first, get the connectivity ordered against the move date, and run the physical move across a weekend so critical systems are back before anyone needs them.
The new comms room, power and connectivity are checked before anything is dismantled.
Most moves complete between Friday evening and Monday morning.
The systems the business cannot pause are planned to stay up through the move.
Workstations set up at assigned desks, patched and tested rather than just delivered.
