They were not trying to leak anything - they had a deadline and a tool that helped, and nobody had told them not to. That is shadow AI, and it is the fastest-growing route data leaves the businesses we assess.
Blocking it is the response that reliably fails. Staff move to their phones, and you lose the visibility you had. What works is giving people a sanctioned tool that is good enough to prefer, then monitoring for the routes that remain.

Find Out What Is Actually Being Used
You cannot govern what you have not measured, and the answer is always broader than management expects.

- An anonymous staff survey, which consistently surfaces more than the logs do

Why Blocking Alone Backfires
This is the pattern we see repeatedly. Block the tools and the usage does not stop, it just moves somewhere you cannot see.

- Block only the highest-risk consumer services once the sanctioned alternative is live and known
The Policy People Will Actually Follow
Most AI policies fail because they are written by lawyers for auditors rather than for the person deciding at 4pm on a Thursday.
- Name specific approved tools rather than describing categories
- Give concrete examples of what may not go in: client data, contracts, payroll, source code, anything under NDA
- Explain why, because staff who understand the reasoning apply it to cases you did not list
- Make it one page. A ten-page policy is a policy nobody has read
- Pair it with security awareness training rather than sending it once by email

Office 45, Concord Tower
Our main workshop is Office 45 on the 10th floor of Concord Tower in Dubai Media City, with a second Azizi Technologies office at the IT Center Building in Bur Dubai. The nearest metro to Concord Tower is Dubai Internet City, and there is visitor parking (first 15 minutes free, then paid) if you drive.
No appointment is needed during workshop hours, Mon-Sat 9AM-7PM, Fri break 12-2PM · Sun closed. Remote support runs from both offices, and on-site visits are scheduled from whichever is closer to you.
Where we work on site
Dubai Media City, Internet City, Knowledge Park, Barsha Heights, Bur Dubai, Business Bay, JLT and the wider city from the two offices, with scheduled visits beyond Dubai.
