We power it up to the Setup Assistant screen, then power down - typically 15 to 30 minutes. If you want, we will first export your Photos, Mail or specific folders to an external drive you bring, free of charge.

Do you buy iCloud-locked or Activation Lock MacBook Airs?
Not unless you can sign out of iCloud in our presence. Apple's Activation Lock binds the Air to your Apple ID through Find My, and a locked Air cannot legitimately be resold or reused. Before you come in, sign out: System Settings, tap your name at the top, Sign Out, enter your Apple ID password, confirm. On older macOS it is System Preferences then Apple ID then Sign Out. If you forgot the Apple ID password, reset it on appleid.apple.com first. If you bought the Air second-hand and never had the previous owner's Apple ID, we cannot buy it - Apple will not unlock it without the original purchase receipt linked to the original buyer. The only exception is accepting a locked Air as a parts donor, with a parts-value offer and the lock status logged on the receipt.
