The exception in Apple's lineup
Every MacBook Pro since 2016 and every MacBook Air since 2018 ships with soldered storage and no upgrade path after purchase, and the Mac mini M2 and M4 and the iMac M1, M3 and M4 use soldered NAND as well. The Mac Studio is the exception: across the M1, M2 and M4 generations the SSD stays a removable Apple M.2-format module on two logic-board slots. Outside the Studio, only the Mac Pro keeps that design.
That one design decision changes the economics of buying one. Base configurations ship with a single slot populated; the higher tiers populate both and stripe them through Apple's storage controller. An after-market upgrade follows the same striping, so internal capacity stops being a permanent commitment made at checkout. For a video or AI workflow in Dubai Media City, that is the reason to choose a Mac Studio over any other desktop short of the Mac Pro.

The IT Center Building in Bur Dubai serves Karama, Deira, Downtown, Business Bay and DIFC. Neither needs an appointment, parking is free at Concord Tower and paid on 21A Street or in the BurJuman car park, and the consultation on which capacity path fits your working set costs nothing.
