The exception in Apple's lineup
Mac Studio storage is a module, not soldered to the board
Every MacBook Pro since 2016 and every MacBook Air since 2018 ships with soldered storage and no upgrade path after purchase, and the Mac mini M2 and the iMac M1, M3 and M4 use soldered NAND as well. The Mac Studio is the exception: across the M1, M2 and M4 generations the SSD stays a removable Apple M.2-format module on two logic-board slots. Outside the Studio, only the Mac Pro keeps that design.
That one design decision changes the economics of buying one. Base configurations ship with a single slot populated; the higher tiers populate both and stripe them through Apple's storage controller. An after-market upgrade follows the same striping, so internal capacity stops being a permanent commitment made at checkout. For a video or AI workflow in Dubai Media City, that is the reason to choose a Mac Studio over any other desktop short of the Mac Pro.

Bottom plate off via the captive screws, antenna and speaker cables disconnected on M4 units, two retention screws out, new module in, then the Apple Configurator restore initialises the controller.

Most of the Mac Studio units we upgrade come from the post-production and AI teams around Dubai Media City, Studio City and Tecom, which is why the Concord Tower workshop on the 10th floor sits where it does. The IT Center Building in Bur Dubai serves Karama, Deira, Downtown, Business Bay and DIFC. Neither needs an appointment, Concord Tower has visitor parking (first 15 minutes free, then paid), and parking is paid on 21A Street or in the BurJuman car park, and the consultation on which capacity path fits your working set comes before any quote.
Message us the generation, the current capacity and the target size before you travel: the genuine Apple module is sourced through our trade channels, so knowing the path in advance means it is on the bench when you arrive. Above 8TB, say so as well, because the staged Thunderbolt 5 backup adds a day and we schedule it around your delivery deadline. Hours are Monday to Saturday 09:00 to 19:00, Friday break 12:00 to 14:00, closed Sunday.
