What WiFi 6 actually buys you
It is a capacity upgrade, not a speed badge.
The headline speed numbers are not the point. WiFi 6 changes how an access point shares its airtime: OFDMA scheduling lets one AP serve four to eight times more devices well, Target Wake Time cuts mobile battery drain, and better modulation holds performance at the edge of range. In a dense office or a device-heavy villa, that is the difference you feel.
It only pays off if the fleet can use it — devices shipped since 2019 mostly can — and if the cabling behind the AP is not the new bottleneck. We check both before recommending it.
OFDMA is the real upgrade: more devices served well, not a bigger number.
Target Wake Time cuts drain on phones and tablets measurably.
The upgrade pays off only if your devices support it, so we verify before quoting.
Installed per access point, so the cost scales with the building.
What this involves
Upgrading to WiFi 6 in Dubai? Here's what it actually delivers, how it is priced per AP, and how Azizi Technologies installs it.
WiFi 6 (802.11ax) is the wireless standard shipping in Apple, Samsung, Microsoft and Sony devices since 2019. Compared to WiFi 5, it delivers 4 to 8 times higher per-AP client capacity via OFDMA scheduling, 30 to 40 percent better battery life on mobile devices via Target Wake Time, and improved range-edge performance via 1024-QAM modulation. At Azizi Technologies Dubai, WiFi 6 installation is priced per access point installed (with structured cabling, mounting, controller configuration and testing), and it usually needs fewer APs than a legacy WiFi 5 layout because the per-AP capacity is higher. Apartments under 80 m2 typically need 1 AP, 2-bed apartments 2 to 3 APs, villas 4 to 8 APs, small offices 3 to 6 APs, large offices 10 to 20 APs.
Brands deployed at Azizi Technologies: Ubiquiti UniFi U6 Lite (AED 450), U6 Pro (AED 800), U6 Enterprise (AED 1,300); Cisco Meraki MR36 (AED 2,500), MR46 (AED 3,500); Aruba (HPE) Instant On AP22 (AED 1,200), AP25 (AED 1,800); TP-Link Omada EAP670 (AED 700), EAP683 LR (AED 950); Ruckus R550 (AED 2,200). Brand choice driven by site survey, not reseller margin. Standard install includes 60-minute site survey, structured cabling to each AP location (Cat 6 or Cat 6a), PoE switch provisioning, controller setup with VLANs and SSIDs (separate networks for staff, guests, IoT), ISP modem bridge-mode reconfiguration for Etisalat or du, full-load capacity testing, and a 90-day warranty. Office installations typically complete in 1 to 3 working days; home and villa installations same-day.
Compared to WiFi 5 installs (now end-of-life), WiFi 6 is the right starting tier for any new Dubai office build in 2026. WiFi 7 is the next generation - faster but currently only meaningful for offices where 50 percent of devices are Wi-Fi 7 capable (iPhone 15 Pro and later, MacBook M3 and later, Samsung S24 and later). For most Dubai SMBs, WiFi 6 hits the cost-effectiveness sweet spot. Our network engineers hold Cisco CCNA and install Ubiquiti and TP-Link Omada every week - 19 years of Dubai-specific WiFi expertise since 2007. The site survey comes before any quote.
Both walk-in workshops in Dubai - Concord Tower at Dubai Media City (covering DMC, Internet City, JLT, Marina, JBR, Palm Jumeirah) and IT Center Building in Bur Dubai (covering Bur Dubai, Karama, Deira, Downtown, Business Bay, DIFC).
Both vendors sell WiFi 6 access points; which one suits your site is covered in Meraki or UniFi for a Dubai office.
