Almost everything in a laptop is packed tight, shared across assemblies and often soldered down. A desktop fault is usually solved by swapping a part. A laptop fault frequently means separating a bonded screen assembly, replacing a whole top case to fix one key, or soldering a new power jack onto the board. That is why we keep the work in house at our own bench instead of passing laptops to a third party, and why the diagnosis comes before the quote rather than after it. When the fault is on the board itself, for example a laptop with no sign of power, a short or a dead charging chip, it goes to our component-level motherboard repair bench rather than being written off for a full board swap. If the board is fine and the disk is what failed, the files are handled under hard drive data recovery before we fit a new drive.

Common laptop faults

What Dubai laptops actually come in for, from screen repair to motherboard work

The six faults that make up most of our laptop bench work, and what each one usually involves, plus the board, spill and hinge jobs that take a little longer.

Cracked or failing screen

Cracks, flickering, vertical lines, dim or dead backlight. Most mainstream panels are same-day; high-resolution and touch assemblies can need a short parts lead time.

Battery not holding charge

Rapid drain, sudden shutdowns, or a swollen pack pushing the trackpad or case apart. A swollen battery is a safety issue and should be dealt with quickly rather than left in use.

Keyboard and trackpad faults

Dead or repeating keys, spill damage, unresponsive trackpad. On many modern laptops the keyboard is part of the top case, so the fix is an assembly rather than a single key.

Charging port and power faults

Laptop only charges at a certain angle, or not at all. Usually a worn DC jack or USB-C port that has to be desoldered and replaced, not a cable problem.

Overheating and throttling

Constant fan noise, hot chassis, performance dropping under load, random shutdowns. Dubai dust clogs intakes quickly, so a strip-down clean and fresh thermal paste often restores full speed.

Slow, no boot, or storage failure

Blue screens, boot loops, or a laptop that will not start. We separate power and board faults from drive faults at diagnosis, and check whether your data is recoverable before you commit.

Motherboard and no-power faults

No lights, no charging, or a laptop that dies the moment it starts. We trace the failed power rail, charging chip or short on the board and replace that one component by micro-soldering, which usually takes a day or two.

Liquid and spill damage

Coffee, water or juice through the keyboard. We strip the laptop down, clean the corrosion off the board, then replace whatever the spill has killed, which can be the keyboard, a connector or a power chip. The sooner it reaches the bench, the more of it survives.

Broken hinges and cracked chassis

A lid that wobbles, creaks or will not close flat, or a base splitting at one corner. Frequent on slim consumer models and 360-degree convertibles, and worth fixing early, before the loose side cracks the screen bezel.

How much does laptop repair cost in Dubai?
It depends on the brand, model and actual fault, so we do not quote blind. Every laptop gets a free bench diagnosis, then a written itemised quote naming the part and the labour before anything is opened. You approve it or take the laptop back at no charge.
How long does laptop repair take?
Most common jobs are same-day when the part is in stock. Batteries, RAM and SSD upgrades usually take a couple of hours. Screens on mainstream models are typically same-day. Charging port work needs soldering, so allow a day or two. We confirm timing in writing after the free diagnosis.
Do you repair all laptop brands in Dubai?
Yes. We work on Dell, HP, Lenovo, ASUS, Acer, MSI, Toshiba, Samsung, Huawei and Microsoft Surface, plus gaming brands including ROG, Legion, Predator, Omen and Alienware. Mainstream business models are usually fastest because parts are widely stocked in Dubai. Rarer imported models can need a short parts lead time.
Is it worth repairing an old laptop or should I replace it?
The honest answer depends on the fault, not the age. A battery, keyboard, fan or SSD on an older business laptop is usually well worth doing. A failed motherboard or a high-resolution touch panel on a budget machine often is not. We tell you which at the free diagnosis.
Why do laptops overheat so much in Dubai?
Two reasons specific to this climate. Fine construction and desert dust clogs fan intakes and radiator fins far faster than in milder places, and high ambient heat leaves the cooling system less headroom. The result is throttling, constant fan noise and shutdowns. A strip-down clean and fresh thermal paste usually restores full speed.
Can you recover my data if the laptop will not turn on?
In most cases yes. A laptop that will not power on rarely means the storage has failed, and the drive is often perfectly readable once removed. We check whether the fault is power, board level or the drive itself during the free diagnosis, and tell you honestly before you commit to anything.
Where can I get a laptop repaired in Dubai?
Azizi Technologies has two walk-in workshops. Concord Tower, Office 45 in Dubai Media City covers Media City, Internet City, JLT, Marina and Al Barsha. G 58, IT Center Building in Bur Dubai covers Bur Dubai, Karama, Deira and Business Bay. Both open Monday to Saturday, closed Sunday. Free diagnosis on walk-in.
How quickly can you do laptop screen repair in Dubai?
Most laptop screen repairs on standard panels are finished the same day when the matching part is in stock. Touch, OLED and high-refresh gaming displays often need ordering first. Before quoting a new panel we test the display cable and hinge wiring, because flicker and lines are not always the screen itself.
Is laptop motherboard repair worth it, or should I replace the laptop?
It depends on the laptop. On a business or gaming machine, no power, a shorted rail or a failed charging chip can usually be fixed at chip level with micro-soldering, and your data stays put. On a budget model, or a cracked or heavily corroded board, replacement is usually the better call. We tell you which after diagnosis.
I spilled liquid on my laptop. What should I do first?
Switch it off straight away, unplug the charger and do not power it back on to check. Turn it upside down to drain, skip the hair dryer and the bag of rice, and bring it in quickly. Liquid keeps corroding the board after the surface looks dry, so an early strip-down and clean gives the board a far better chance.
Can you fix a broken laptop hinge?
Yes. The metal hinge rarely snaps on its own; what usually fails is the anchor point inside the lid or base, which cracks after months of opening the laptop from one corner. We repair that anchor or fit a replacement housing, then check the display cable, since a loose hinge can chafe it and cause flicker.
Can you collect my laptop instead of me bringing it in?
No. Laptop repairs are walk-in only, at Media City or at G 58 in the IT Center Building, Bur Dubai, near BurJuman. Traffic made the collect-and-return trip impossible to run well, so we stopped it. If you are unsure whether the trip is worth it, WhatsApp a photo and the symptoms first and we will give you the likely fix and price range. Companies on one of our AMC plans are the exception: the engineer can take a laptop back to the bench on a scheduled visit.
What does your 90-day laptop repair warranty cover?
It covers the parts we fitted and the labour for 90 days, written on your invoice. If the same component fails with the same fault, we repair it again under the warranty. It does not cover new drops, new liquid spills or software problems unrelated to the original repair, which we quote separately after a fresh free diagnosis.
