The base M5 arrived in October 2025 as Apple's entry point into the M5 generation of the Pro line, with a 10-core CPU, a 10-core GPU and a 16-core neural engine in the 14.2-inch Liquid Retina XDR mini-LED body, three Thunderbolt 4 ports, HDMI 2.1, an SDXC slot, MagSafe 3 charging and a six-speaker system. It is the configuration Dubai's video editors, developers, finance teams and architects keep bringing in.
The faults that follow it here are ordinary rather than exotic. A JLT developer's battery drops under 80 percent after fourteen months of Xcode and Docker. A Media City editor's mini-LED panel picks up stage-light patches after a year of HDR work. A Business Bay spill lands mid-presentation. DIFC and Studio City machines lose a Thunderbolt 4 lane, an HDMI 2.1 output or an SDXC slot to repeated docking. Dubai adds the rest: 45C summers ageing packs faster, sandstorm dust through the fans and AC condensation under the panel. Because we have stocked the parts since launch, most of that list is a same-day fix rather than a wait.
The same bench takes the M5 Pro and M5 Max, in both the 14-inch and 16-inch bodies. Apple puts no base M5 in the 16-inch chassis, so a 16-inch on the counter is always a Pro or a Max. Those tiers hold heat for much longer, which changes sign-off: a 30-minute Cinebench 2024 and Blender Cycles load with a thermal camera on the chip, because a heat-cycled board can pass at idle and fail at work. Thunderbolt 5 ports on the M5 Max are repaired one at a time and proven at full rate with a TB5 NVMe enclosure.

Two Dubai workshops for the base M5
Bring the machine to whichever workshop is closer: no appointment, and the intake diagnosis is free at both while you wait. In Media City the address is Office 45, 10th floor, Concord Tower, with Dubai Internet City the nearest metro and visitor parking downstairs (first 15 minutes free, then paid) if you drive. In Bur Dubai the address is G 58, IT Center Building, 21A Street, a short walk from BurJuman Metro and Meena Bazaar, with no lifts to find and paid street parking outside, or the BurJuman car park when 21A is full.
Both run Monday to Saturday 09:00 to 19:00, break for Friday prayers between 12:00 and 14:00 and close on Sunday. If a battery or port job is the only thing standing between you and a deadline, say so at the counter: same-day work is scheduled by what the machine is holding up.
