IP Camera Installation Dubai

IP cameras (network cameras) have replaced analogue CCTV as the standard for new security installations in Dubai. They transmit video over your network rather than dedicated coax cable, support resolutions up to 4K, enable remote viewing via smartphone app, and integrate natively with modern NVR systems for local storage and cloud backup. Azizi Technologies installs IP camera systems across Dubai for homes, apartments, offices, retail shops and warehouses: from a 4-camera starter system to a 64-camera 4K deployment across a large facility. Site survey, SIRA requirements explained for commercial sites, free diagnosis on existing systems.

IP versus analogue

Network cameras replaced coax for good reasons.

IP cameras carry video over your ordinary network rather than dedicated coaxial runs, which changes the economics of an installation: one cable per camera carrying both data and power, resolutions to 4K rather than analogue's ceiling, and native integration with modern NVRs for local recording plus cloud backup.

It also changes what is possible per camera. PTZ units with auto-tracking, fisheye cameras covering a whole lobby or warehouse floor from one position, and ANPR at gates are all straightforward on IP and awkward or impossible on analogue.

  • Power over Ethernet means no separate power run to each camera position.

IP Camera Installation Pricing Dubai

IP camera pricing includes the camera, PoE switch (if needed), NVR and installation. All packages below include professional cable routing, NVR configuration and mobile app setup. The hardware carries its manufacturer's warranty and our installation work a 90-day warranty.

  • 4-camera HD system (1080p, 30m night vision), for a home or small shop
  • 4-camera 4K system (8MP, colour night vision)
  • 8-camera HD system with 2TB NVR
  • 8-camera 4K system with 4TB NVR
  • 16-camera HD commercial system
  • PTZ camera (pan-tilt-zoom, auto-tracking), priced per camera installed
  • Fisheye panoramic camera (360-degree, lobby or warehouse), priced per camera installed
  • Additional camera on existing system, priced per camera

IP Camera Types and Selection

Not all IP cameras suit all locations. Camera selection depends on coverage area, lighting conditions, mounting location and whether optical zoom is needed.

  • Dome cameras: vandal-resistant, ceiling-mounted, low-profile: best for indoor corridors, retail and receptions
  • Bullet cameras: visible deterrent, weatherproof, long-range IR night vision: best for external perimeters and car parks
  • PTZ cameras: motorised pan, tilt and optical zoom: best for large open areas (warehouses, car parks) where one camera can track movement across a wide zone
  • Fisheye cameras: single camera, 360-degree coverage with dewarping software: cost-effective for lobbies and open-plan offices
  • ANPR cameras: automatic number plate recognition, optimised for car park entrances and gate control
  • Thermal cameras: detects heat signatures regardless of lighting: perimeter applications and server rooms

IP Camera Brands We Install in Dubai

We install cameras from the leading manufacturers, choosing the right brand for your budget and application rather than pushing one brand across all customers.

  • Hikvision: best value for HD and 4K; ColorVu colour night vision; AcuSense AI human/vehicle detection; most widely supported NVR ecosystem in Dubai
  • Dahua: strong alternative to Hikvision; Full-Colour and WizSense AI models; competitive pricing for multi-camera systems
  • Axis: premium commercial-grade cameras; edge AI analytics built in; preferred for high-security and enterprise applications
  • Hanwha Vision (Samsung Techwin): enterprise and government-preferred brand; strong analytics platform
  • Uniview: cost-effective AI cameras for budget-sensitive commercial deployments

SIRA Rules for IP Camera Installations in Dubai

SIRA (Security Industry Regulatory Agency), the Dubai government body that regulates security systems, requires that CCTV installations in commercial premises meet minimum standards for camera coverage, recording retention (minimum 31 days), and installer registration. Which rules apply depends on your premises type, and the final check is SIRA's. For commercial sites we tell you which requirements likely apply and which steps need a vendor SIRA has approved, and we hand over the camera layout and specification. Residential installations (private villas, apartments) do not require SIRA registration.

Remote Viewing and NVR Configuration

Every IP camera system we install includes remote viewing via smartphone app (Hik-Connect for Hikvision, DMSS for Dahua, or brand-specific app) configured and tested before handover. We set up user accounts, configure notification alerts on motion detection and enable cloud backup where subscribed. NVR storage is sized for the required recording period: a 4-camera 1080p system requires approximately 1TB per 30 days of continuous recording.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Quick answers about IP Camera Installation in Dubai from the Azizi Technologies team.

How much does IP camera installation cost in Dubai?
The price depends on camera count, resolution and recorder size, and it is confirmed after a site survey. Pricing includes cameras, NVR, PoE switch (if needed), professional cabling, configuration and mobile app setup.
What is the difference between IP cameras and analogue CCTV?
IP cameras transmit video over your existing network (Cat6 cable with PoE power), support resolutions up to 4K (much higher than analogue), enable remote viewing natively via app, and support AI analytics (human detection, vehicle detection, face recognition). Analogue systems use separate coax power cables, are limited to lower resolutions (2MP maximum for HD-TVI/HD-CVI), and require a DVR rather than an NVR. All new CCTV installations in Dubai are IP-based.
Do I need SIRA approval for IP cameras in my Dubai office?
Many commercial premises in Dubai fall under SIRA rules, which can cover who installs the system as well as camera coverage and 31-day recording retention. Which rules apply depends on your premises type. We tell you which requirements likely apply and which steps need a vendor SIRA has approved; ask SIRA or your approved vendor to confirm. Private villas and apartments generally do not need SIRA registration.
Can I view my IP cameras remotely on my phone from outside Dubai?
Yes, all IP camera systems we install include remote viewing via smartphone app configured before handover. Hikvision systems use Hik-Connect, Dahua uses DMSS. You can view live footage and playback from anywhere with an internet connection, and set motion detection alerts to notify you immediately.
What is the advantage of IP cameras over analogue CCTV?
IP cameras deliver far higher resolution, typically 4MP to 4K, so you can digitally zoom into a face or number plate without the image breaking up. They also run over a single network cable and are easy to add to or relocate as your premises change.
Do IP cameras need separate power cabling?
No, we use Power over Ethernet (PoE), so one Cat6 cable carries both data and power to each camera, cutting clutter and install time. This also lets us centralise everything at a single PoE switch or NVR for cleaner maintenance.
How much network bandwidth and storage do IP cameras use?
Higher resolution means heavier data, so we size your NVR storage and switch capacity to your retention needs. Thirty days of 4K footage needs far more disk than 1080p. We can also set motion-only recording to stretch storage without losing key events.
Can IP cameras read number plates at my Dubai compound gate?
Yes, with the right ANPR/LPR camera, correct mounting angle and lighting, we can capture and log vehicle plates at gates and car park entries. We assess the throw distance and vehicle speed on the survey to specify the correct lens.
