The doors worth controlling are the ones where who-and-when matters: the main entrance out of hours, server and comms rooms, stock rooms and stores, HR and finance offices, and residential building entrances. On each, the credential type follows the environment - card and PIN suit clean offices and high-turnover sites, fingerprint suits controlled indoor doors, and face recognition covers workshops and sites where hands are gloved or dirty. The reader families are the same ones our time-attendance installations use, so a single credential can drive both systems.

Access control pays for itself at the moments it works with the rest of the security stack. A door event tied to CCTV means every entry has its footage; a forced or held-open door raises an alarm rather than a log line nobody reads; and out-of-hours entry can alert a named phone.
