Al Barsha laptop work splits cleanly into two groups, and they want completely different things. The residential side, the villas of Al Barsha 1, 2 and 3 and the apartment blocks around Mall of the Emirates, brings us family and student machines: a school laptop with a cracked screen, a household Windows machine that has slowed over years, a gaming laptop running hot and throttling. The commercial side, mainly Barsha Heights just up the road, brings small-office fleets that need to be back tomorrow. We are ten minutes away in Dubai Media City and cover both from the same bench. The dust question comes up more here than in most areas, and it is a real one rather than a sales line. Villa air conditioning in this part of Dubai pulls a lot of fine dust through, and over a few years it packs into laptop cooling fins and fan blades. The symptoms are gradual and easy to misread as the machine getting old: the fan runs constantly, the chassis gets hot, performance drops under load, and eventually it shuts down unexpectedly. It is not a fault that needs parts, it is a strip-down and clean plus fresh thermal paste, and it restores most machines to something close to their original behaviour. Gaming laptops suffer worst because they run hottest.
