If that did not fix it
Before you bring the Mac in
The number we send on WhatsApp holds at the counter when the Mac matches what we were told. The things that move it are easy to miss: Activation Lock still on, a company management profile showing at login, a battery service warning, a display replaced elsewhere, or a dent in the bottom case near the battery.
Send a screenshot of About This Mac, the Power section of System Information for cycle count, and a photo of the bottom case and any marks. Sign out of iCloud before you leave home; it takes longer than people expect on a slow connection. With those done, the sale takes a few minutes.
Comparing the routes honestly
The marketplaces pay more on paper. Net of your time, they often do not.
Dubizzle and Facebook Marketplace will typically show a higher number than any dealer, and that number is real. What it does not include is the messaging, the lowball offers, the people who agree a price and never arrive, and the weeks the machine sits in a drawer depreciating while you wait. Apple's trade-in sits at the other extreme: fast, entirely trustworthy, and well below what the machine is worth on the open market.
A specialist buyer is the middle route, and it wins on net outcome rather than headline price. We test the machine in about fifteen minutes and pay the same day in cash, transfer or credit against something else. Bring the box, charger and serial if you have them, because they genuinely move the number — and we take machines with faults, which the private market largely will not.
A better headline number, paid for in weeks of messaging and no-shows.
Entirely reliable, and well under open-market value.
About fifteen minutes to evaluate, then cash, transfer or credit.
We buy machines the private market will not touch, priced for the condition.
The full answer
Selling your old Mac in Dubai? Here's how to get the highest price without the marketplace hassle.
The best place to sell a used Apple computer in Dubai is a specialist buyer that pays cash on the spot. Online marketplaces (Dubizzle, Facebook Marketplace) pay 10-15% more on paper, but you'll deal with no-shows, lowballs, and weeks of messaging. Apple's trade-in program is fast but offers 30-40% below market value. Azizi Technologies pays competitive market rates with same-day evaluation: bring your MacBook, iMac, or Mac mini to our Dubai Media City or Bur Dubai store, we test it in 15 minutes, and pay you in cash, bank transfer, or credit toward a new device. Original box, charger, and serial number help - and we accept devices with cracked screens, dead batteries, or storage issues at a fair discount.
We also collect from your office across Dubai. Get a quote in advance via WhatsApp.
Before you go anywhere, work through how to prepare used Apple devices for sale, from backup to removing Activation Lock.
An iPhone is valued on different things from a Mac: battery health, Face ID and a clean IMEI count for more than storage. If one is going with the laptop, sell the iPhone in Dubai through the same quote and collect both payments in one visit.
If the phone is the bigger decision, our guide to the best place to sell a used iPhone compares marketplaces, chains and Apple's trade-in credit.
From the bench: what we see with this one
Office Macs are the ones that cause trouble at the counter. A machine bought through a company often sits in that company's Apple Business Manager, and a Mac enrolled that way shows a management screen on first boot even after a full erase. We cannot clear that, and neither can anyone else; the previous IT team has to release the serial number. If you are selling a work Mac, ask them to do that before you travel, because an enrolled Mac has no resale value until it is released.
On what sells: 27-inch 5K iMacs from 2017 onwards still move quickly, 21.5-inch iMacs with spinning hard drives are slow, and 2016 to 2019 MacBook Pros with butterfly keyboards are priced with the keyboard risk in mind. Apple silicon anything is straightforward.
