The five-photo quote process
We built the buyback flow around WhatsApp because nobody in Dubai wants to drive to Bur Dubai twice. Five photos and one model number is enough to lock a written quote with 7-day validity.

Why the five-photo standard works
It eliminates the bait-and-switch. Walk-in buyers regularly drop their offer once you arrive ("oh the dent is worse than I thought"). With a written WhatsApp quote based on photos you already sent, the only way the price moves is if the photos misrepresented the device.
Condition grading we actually use
Forget the vague A/B/C grading most resellers throw at you. Here is the actual rubric we apply:

Data wipe before payment - the only safe way
Never hand over a MacBook with your iCloud still signed in. Activation Lock will brick it for the new owner and the deal collapses. This is the order to follow:
- 1Back up to Time Machine or iCloud. We can help in-store if you forgot.
- 2Sign out of iMessage, FaceTime, App Store and finally iCloud (System Settings - Apple ID - Sign Out).
- 3Unpair Bluetooth devices (especially AirPods and Apple Watch).
- 4On Apple Silicon Macs (M1 and later): Erase All Content and Settings from System Settings - General - Transfer or Reset.
- 5On Intel Macs: boot to Recovery (Cmd+R), Disk Utility - erase APFS, then reinstall macOS.
- 6Hand over to us. We verify the wipe in front of you before paying.
Activation Lock policy
We do not bypass Apple Activation Lock - nobody legitimate in Dubai does. If the device is iCloud-locked and you cannot sign out (forgotten password, deceased relative, ex-employee), bring original purchase invoice and Emirates ID and we will help you go through Apple's official unlock request. This adds 5-14 days but is the only legal path.
The four mistakes that cost sellers money
- Selling the day a new MacBook lineup is announced - used prices dip right after a WWDC or autumn Apple event, so sell before the announcement rather than after.
- Going to one buyer only. Get two written quotes minimum. We are happy to be the second.
- Forgetting the original box and charger. Both lift the offer on desirable models.
- Listing on Dubizzle without screening buyers. Cash-on-pickup scams and stolen-device returns are common - the WhatsApp + in-person model with an established business is safer.
