Corporate laptop refreshes happen every 3-4 years at most Dubai SMBs and every 18-24 months at larger DIFC and ADGM tenants. When the new fleet arrives, the old fleet has to leave the building - cleanly, with documented data destruction, removed asset tags, and a single invoice that finance can process against the asset register. Doing this through a Dubizzle listing is illegal in most regulated industries and a nightmare even where it is allowed.
Azizi Technologies has been running corporate buyback engagements in Dubai since 2007. This is the workflow we use for 5-unit refreshes at JLT startups and 200-unit refreshes at DIFC financial services tenants. 642 Google reviews, 4.9 stars, 18 years of references available on request.
When this service applies
- Annual hardware refresh (typical at law firms, consultancies, agencies).
- Office consolidation or downsizing (post-restructuring, post-merger).
- Migration from Windows fleet to MacBook (or vice versa).
- End-of-employment device recovery in bulk (post-redundancy events).
- Closure of a Dubai branch or representative office.
- DIFC / ADGM exit where licensed data assets must be provably destroyed before deregistration.
The 7-step engagement workflow
- 1Initial scoping call (free, 30 min) - inventory list by model/serial, regulatory regime (PDPL/DIFC/DHCC/ADGM), preferred timeline.
- 2Per-unit valuation - we price each model based on chip, RAM, SSD, age, expected average condition.
- 3Site visit by our engineer (free for fleets of 20+) - sample inspection of 10-20% of units to validate condition grading.
- 4Written master quote - per-unit AED breakdown, total fleet value, NDA-protected, 14-day validity.
- 5Data wipe and certification - performed on-site by our engineer with screen-recorded evidence, or units collected and wiped at our Bur Dubai lab.
- 6Asset-tag removal, packaging, transport - using our insured van service across Dubai and Sharjah.
- 7Consolidated VAT-compliant invoice and payment - bank transfer for fleets of 20+, cash option for smaller.

Data destruction options for corporate fleets
Certificate of Data Destruction
Every unit in a corporate buyback receives a per-serial-number Certificate of Data Destruction signed by our engineer, with method, timestamp, and witness. PDF pack delivered with your invoice. Acceptable for PDPL Article 20 compliance evidence, DIFC Data Protection Law and ADGM DPR 2021 audits.
DIFC / ADGM compliance considerations
Entities inside DIFC operate under DIFC Data Protection Law (No. 5 of 2020) which is GDPR-aligned. ADGM entities operate under ADGM DPR 2021 with similar standards. Both require demonstrable destruction of personal data on devices leaving controller possession.
- We ship a DIFC/ADGM-aligned destruction package as standard - certificate per serial, methodology statement, engineer credentials, retention policy reference.
- Cross-border data movement (where applicable) handled with standard contractual clauses if any data is incidentally exposed during sampling.
- DPO sign-off workflow - we deliver evidence pack directly to your DPO before payment is released.
- Retention of our destruction logs for 7 years (we hold; you reference if regulator inquiry arrives).

The volume premium
Fleets of 20+ identical units get a 5-10% volume premium because we can resell them as a managed batch (often to schools, training centres or smaller SMBs) without per-unit listing overhead. Mixed-brand fleets price closer to individual buyback rates.
What we need from the buyer side
- Asset register or inventory spreadsheet (model, serial, RAM, SSD where known).
- Authorised signatory contact (CFO, Head of IT, or equivalent) for the master agreement.
- Access to a meeting room / staging area for site visit (large fleets only).
- Pre-agreed schedule for wipe and pickup (typical: 2-3 day window).
- Trade license copy and TRN for the VAT-compliant invoice.
Timeline expectations
- 5-20 units - quote within 24 hours of inventory list, complete engagement in 3-5 working days.
- 20-50 units - quote within 48 hours, site visit within 5 days, complete in 7-10 working days.
- 50-100 units - quote within 72 hours, on-site wipe day for 1-2 days, payment within 14 working days of pickup.
- 100-200+ units - bespoke timeline, typically 3-4 weeks end-to-end with phased pickup.
Why companies choose Azizi for buyback
Three reasons most often cited by the DIFC, JLT and Media City clients we work with. First, we are operationally ready - 18 years of warehouse capacity, an in-house Apple repair lab, and the logistics to move 100 units in a day. Second, our compliance documentation is regulator-ready - the certificates we issue have been accepted in multiple DIFC and PDPL audits. Third, we publish honest per-unit pricing and explain why each grade gets what it gets - finance teams appreciate not being haggled with.

Frequently asked questions
What is the minimum fleet size for corporate buyback?
We start at 5 units for the corporate workflow with consolidated invoicing and certified data destruction. Below 5, the standard sell-back process works fine - just WhatsApp photos of each unit individually. Above 20 units we add an on-site engineer visit and the volume premium.
Can Azizi wipe data on-site at our DIFC / ADGM office?
Yes. For fleets of 20+ or any regulated-industry client, we send an engineer (or pair of engineers for 100+ units) to your office to perform the wipe on-site. Each unit gets a screen-recorded wipe, a per-serial certificate, and the laptops only leave the building once your DPO or IT lead has signed off.
What standard do you wipe to?
Apple Silicon MacBooks - we use Erase All Content and Settings which performs a cryptographic erase via the Secure Enclave (NIST 800-88 Purge equivalent for SSD). Intel MacBooks and Windows laptops - NIST 800-88 Clear (1-pass software overwrite) by default, NIST 800-88 Purge (3-pass) on request for high-sensitivity data. Physical SSD destruction (ISO 21964 H-5) available as an add-on.
Does Azizi sign an NDA before seeing our inventory?
Yes. Standard mutual NDA available before any inventory is shared. We sign your template or you sign ours - either works. DIFC and ADGM clients often require their NDA template; we accommodate.
What if some laptops in the fleet are damaged or non-functional?
We still buy them. Damaged-but-not-destroyed units enter our parts pipeline at lower per-unit AED but still contribute to the fleet total. Completely destroyed units (smashed, soaked, burnt) we collect for environmentally-safe disposal at minimal or no cost - you keep evidence of destruction either way.
How is payment handled for large corporate fleets?
Bank transfer in AED against a VAT-compliant invoice. Standard payment terms are within 14 working days of pickup. Cash option available for fleets under 20 units. Cheque available on request. We can structure milestone payments for phased pickups (e.g. 50% on first wave, 50% on second).
Do you provide references from other DIFC or Media City clients?
Yes. We have engagement references from law firms, consultancies, financial services tenants, and agencies across DIFC, ADGM, JLT, Media City and Tecom. Names shared only with prospective clients under mutual NDA - we treat the existing relationships with the same confidentiality we would treat yours.
